Scientific progress is made by asking meaningful questions and conducting careful investigations. As a basis for understanding this concept and addressing the content in the other three strands, students should develop their own questions and perform investigations. Students will:
- Plan and conduct a scientific investigation to test a hypothesis.
- Evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of data.
- Distinguish between variable and controlled parameters in a test.
- Construct appropriate graphs from data and develop quantitative statements about the relationships between variables.
Unit 1:Experimenting For Unit 1
This unit mostly focuses on what we have learned. For example for the beginning of our experiments we had to practicing on writing a good hypothesis, and we worked on that for about a day or two. Then after that we did Procedure and writing Evaluation, then we did Designing a Good Experiment, Data:Collection,Graphing, and Analysis, and lastly we did Writing a Conclusion. Then we will be starting to work on the Rubber Band Trajectory. All of these experiments we have been working on has been on practicing on how to write them well and thats why we take notes, and then at the end of the week we take a test.
